Trotcon post-post
Well I’m home at last from Trotcon! (None of you probably noticed I was even off at a con)
I won’t go into a ton of detail about the con, but I thought I’d make a little post about how it went for everybody.
So first the business side of the con. My sales were pretty close to exactly what I predicted, about $60 short of my prediction. I was hoping to beat my prediction of course, but it was close enough. I still made a nice profit that I can tuck away for rent or future cons. Plus I have a lot of leftover stock for Bronycon, that only means less printing time and expense. For Bronycon (2-3 weeks away...) I hope to expand the types of merch I have to offer even more! That way people who don’t want prints can still pick something up from me. Wish me luck on that!
But cons aren’t all business for me. I may not have had many friends who I already knew going to this con, but I still had fun hanging out with them. Not to mention the new friends I made too! I don’t have a lot to really say about this, just regular hanging out with people.
I barely got any sleep the whole con. On my trip there I didn’t sleep at all, and it was an overnight flight. The next night I stayed up until 4am to get food and got only 4 hours of sleep. The night after that I passed out for a couple hours while people were off doing things, then woke up for a while, when I tried to go back to sleep I could not fall asleep until after 6am, and I had to wake up by about 8 to setup in the vendor hall the next morning. The third night I only got 3 hours of sleep, again staying up late to get food. So the grand total of sleep I got over the four con days was 11 hours... The day after (Monday) I slept 13 hours almost straight, then more on my flight home, then 10 hours after I got home. I’m honestly surprised I managed to stay on my feet at the con, let alone feel so rested.
Now these next two to three weeks are going to be spent preparing for Bronycon! I have a ton I want to get done by then, with all kinds of new types of merch to create and order. Plus I have some Patreon milestone promises to start fulfilling, but that can wait until the beginning of August.
Did I meet any of you this weekend at Trotcon?
