Trope of the Day
Developer’s Foresight
This is a trope mainly associated with video games. This refers to when a player does something they’re not supposed to (for example, purposefully leaving the map) but finds that the developers have already accounted for this and have put something in place.
This also refers to when there are combinations (usually of items or story choices) as the players find out the developers have thought of every possible combination
Examples:
The Stanley Parable
Baldur's Gate III
Undertale
