“That’s probably a very wise idea.” Trish said with a smile. “It’s always better to be sober when seeing someone you care for.” She paused slightly in the conversation as she put her books and notes in her satchel.
Nico began to rub a sore spot in the middle of his head. He could already feel a dull hammer inside his skull. He had a higher tolerance for alcohol than humans, so it took more to make him drunk; but still, he’d had too much, and he was starting to feel slightly drained and tired.Â
He did notice, however, that talking to the woman was distracting him from how he felt, so he kept chatting.
“So, Trish,” he asked, “do you mind if we continue to chat as I walk, ah, home? I want to make sure I make it to my door safely.”
