removed everything from the triops tank except the airstone, filter, & egeria (& duckweed). stirred out the dirt from the substrate thoroughly. if this doesnt work im gonna start throwing things

hatching one batch of t.c. albino from just the eggs ive collected from my aquarium (24hrs and already a good amount of larvae)
hatching another batch of t.c. green/spain this time from a different breeder. this variety has given me only trouble so far, so maybe switching sources makes a difference. (24hrs in and so far i see nothing)
seeing the slightest hint of colour on the wilds! theyll develop a handsome green/brown marbling
trying out another set of hatching cups! strangely, my triops hatching success rate seems to strongly depend on the plastic containers i use. i decided to go with cancris again since the warm weather is taking its sweet time arriving. as usual, one cup contains wildtype "spain" eggs, the other albinos.
triops are again on hold due to an upcoming trip to romania & another longer stay is already planned for august. i will be back mid april so the time slot for this summers batch is slightly awkward - half of it would probably suit cancris better temp wise, the other should be warm enough to keep longis without additional heating. gotta go over my options and make decisions, ugh..

after an impressive over-3-and-a-half months, the one surviving triops from last batch has kicked the bucket. i hope they know they were a good bug. if the snails havent chewed her up too bad im gonna measure her but im estimating around 5cm without the tail spikes
just a bit mad that i didnt film bugshrimp laying eggs earlier. usually u just see them lower the egg pouches but not the actual release of eggs bc their body covers it (so ive not found anyone elses footage of it either) but there for the first time i actually saw them come out. just. pffffpprfprfbbbbbbt - tadaa! 50 or so eggs.
