Harry, Ron, and Hermione had made a conscious effort after Hogwarts and after the war to keep connected with each other, and it wasn’t uncommon for one of them to come home to another person in their apartment. They also aimed for group dinners once a week when they could, but Harry had felt a strange undertone the last time Hermione had asked if they were still doing dinner at Harry’s this week. It filled him with an oddly nervous energy as he threw the last bits of dinner together, and heard his floo activate.
Casting a quick stasis charm to keep the food warm, Harry headed into his living room, pulling Ron into a quick hug. It didn’t take long to see that Ron seemed a little on edge too. “Hey mate,” Harry said, attempting to bulldoze through the weird mood. “Hermione right behind you?”
