There was something about quiet days on the island that drove Alec the slightest bit insane— in the aftermath of the tropical storm and everything that had gone into preparing for its landfall he felt the slightest bit deflated. It was ridiculous-- he thought-- that he could feel anything resembling discontent when his siblings and loved ones were safe and sound in spite of the storm and the worst things they had to deal with now was picking up whatever the storm had seen fit to knock loose— patching holes, clearing roads, things of that nature. He’d already spent the better part of the day practically bouncing every which way around the island to ensure there weren’t any pressing repairs that needed doing but his stamina for manual labor had evidently been exhausted and he found himself keen on tracking down alcohol of some sort-- a treat he found in the form of beer he snatched from his villa on his way down to the beach to enjoy the last bit of sunlight the day could offer.
He popped the top on one of them and took a long drink-- settling two more bottles in the sand next to his feet before he raised the hem of his t-shirt up to wipe absently at his face-- failing to notice anyone approaching him in the process. He blinked for a moment to clear his vision and grinned-- crooked and sharp, “You want one of these?” Alec asked, gesturing towards the beer at his feet, “Or is it just my pretty face you’re lookin’ to see?”
