truly accurate tfp breakdown playlist: the complete mad max fury road score
omg I told myself I wouldn't ask more questions for the night but IS THAT TRACES OF AN INVENTED LANGUAGE I SEE IN YOUR REPLY. linguistics and conlanging is a huge passion of mine, is that language something you started from scratch or did you base it off of one or more human languages in some way (sentence structure, conjugations, phonology etc etc)??
B))
yes!! yes yes yes it is!! i havenāt got it all down pat because you know inventing a language can be a little tricky but! yeah yeah itās a language iāve started all on my own just for this story! the language is very airy and smooth and if it doesnāt flow youāre not saying it right
one of the main things of the language is that you primarily speak with the front of the mouth by using crisp or airy sounds sounds like the hardĀ ātā sound and āpā inĀ ātipā, or the entire wordĀ āhissā! itās very rare that you hear a sound from the back of the mouth in their languagewhatās funny is that the hardĀ ākā sound is actually extremely offensive to them. like just making the sound isnāt exactly a word for them, but it is basically a verbal form of extreme disdain and rudeness, like if you made that sound at any aish donāt expect them not to fly at you in rage
their sentence structure tends to be extremely flowing and doesnāt leave a lot of room for thought. the ui, or rhythm of the words is actually very important when speaking the language because the rhythm portrays the mood of the speaker. they achieve this by throwing in a lot of filler syllables and either nodding or moving their hands with their rhythm
and actually a lot of adverbs/adjectives are conjugated (built) into words! such as silumanvah as the word forĀ āfreed slaveā and not just slave! the -vah indicates that they are freed. if they are just sayingĀ āslaveā the word would be silumanve (there would be an accent on the e because whenever the word is not conjugated the ending is usually an accented vowel)Ā
gosh thereās pprobably more i could go on about but my head is getting a lil muddled ahhah!
ohh also little tidbit the name of the main character, Anonor, literally meansĀ āhe who fallsā in Atuleel!
I know I sent a buttload of questions in that last ask but y'know how it goes, coming up with one makes you think of more haha: ok so where do the aishians live, do they have their own planet? are they the only sentient species that is native to it? are they interplanetary and do they interact with alien planets? is their planet like an alternate earth or not earth-like at all?
oohh oh my god trico these are absolutely fantastic questions ohh my goodness! okay im just gonna answer each question individually so here go
where do the aishians live, do they have their own planet?
they absolutely do have their own planet! her name is Atuvaal, and her moons are Dihana and Vriael. A majority of the planet is uninhabitable due to overgrowth and hostile conditions that megalithic forests had created in response to impeding civilizations that came before the Aish. The Aish as a race actually live on several different planets, but Atuvaal is their native planet. TheĀ ābasesā in the west and north, or the eumta, started out as just that: bases. They eventually became permanent homes to other Aish, who have developed significantly different cultures than the native Aish. But, the storyline focuses primarily on the Aish of Atuvaal, or the Atuleel.Ā
are they the only sentient species that is native to it?
This has been an argument among many intellects of the aishian population, since many argue that the pedaladesh are not just significantly intelligent, but that they were the first sentient species to inhabit Atuvaal. Since they have no way of communicating with the pedaladesh and they have been receding deeper into the primeval jungles, the argument has largely been dropped. There used to be other small communities of refugees that came to Atuvaal to try and start new lives and survive on the outskirts of the Aish communities or even in the jungles, but after the war there werenāt enough resources for them to survive. Oddly enough, the biological warfare didnāt hugely affect the jungles, but destroyed most of the more delicate and tame plants of the region the Aish inhabited. also, there are an inordinate amount of myths aboutĀ ājungle-peopleā that hide in the forests who have never, ever been seen.Ā
are they interplanetary and do they interact with alien planets?
In the main story, a vast majority of their sustenance comes from off-planet! They are definitely interplanetary, and are considered one of the more āsocialā species of their solar cluster. Since they canāt support themselves agriculturally, they act as aĀ āmilitary for rentā in return for vital resources for a lot of other planets. Theyāve really strained themselves a lot doing this, but its all they can do until they get back up on their feet or die. Possibly the most significant other planet in the story is Vakulimi, which is actually a conjoined planet (the main planet has a smaller planet attached to it by a system of both natural and man made anchors) and the planet is. filthy rich in resources. absolutely dripping with them. a lot of the story takes place here, since its much more culturally rich and this planet was the one to defeat the Atuleel in the War of Nations. Ā Other significant planets include Gyxie, Chama-char, and Booum.
is their planet like an alternate earth or not earth-like at all?
I donāt think earth is at all comparable to Atuvaal. Sheās nearly seven times the size of earth, with four times the land mass. The jungles are practically predatory, and the seasons are considerably different. The two moons also spice things up a bit for the planet, and a majority of the species that inhabit it are absolutely massive, like the pedaladesh, scullers, and rhayales
