It was a hit to his pride, having Hiro refuse to accompany him. Goro didn’t even have a clue as to what’d happened between him and Hikaru, but clearly it’d been more than enough to stir some trouble. Enough to make Hikaru so on the defense last night. Despite his own threats, he hadn’t even touched Hiro’s phone. Hadn’t blocked  communication between the pair of friends that they’d apparently become.

Just the thought of it made his stomach turn. Was this just how it was going to be? Before everything ended (possibly), Hikaru was going to connect more with his brother than him? Going to just replace him with the more appealing twin? ...A part of him couldn’t blame him, but it didn’t make him any less upset about it.

Passing through the main floor of Leblanc without a word, he would go up the steps with a brief knock on the wood of the wall to give notice that he was there and coming up. It was eerily quiet, after all. Unusual for a meeting. Was he the first one, then? You’d think Futaba at least be around-- Getting up the steps, he found it was true. 

It was just the two of them. Great.

He’d heard of the series—Kagami had introduced him to it. Another link to a Japanese born transfer student, his gaze sharpened upon Arsene, as if to try and peel back the mask upon them and view the true face of the other. However, his quip caught him off guard, claws flexing instinctually before a cold smile settled upon his features. “You’re right—they very well could be different, you never know who might be behind the mask, or do you?”

Ladybug, about to interfere and halt their potiental dance around identities, when her gaze fell wholly on Hikaru as he spoke. “…Arsene…” Her jaw slackened at the mention of Goro, knowing the full story, her shoulders fell some as she stared, brows furrowing at his utterance.

Chat, on the other hand, was less sympathetic, but his smile slipped away with ease as he stared up at the taller hero. His hand retracted, instead falling onto his hip with a frown encasing his features. “Fine, that’s fair enough.” Conceding to the other, he let out a breath. “I’m no fan of being replaced, but Ladybug does need someone at her side.” Turning and grabbing up the ruby coated hand and bringing it to his lips. “My lady, call me if you need anything.”

Dropping it, he took a step back, keeping his green eyes locked on them. “Now, if you will excuse me, I think I’ll drop by and grab a few croissants before I head back home. Can’t take care of Paris on an empty stomach after all.” He glanced towards the Bakery, and immediately Ladybug took a step forward.

         Goosebumps form instantly – the hairs of his nape stick upward and whatever attention the former reporter had on the papers at hand long gone replaced with exasperated surprise, meeting eyes with the former wildcard for seconds before closing them and releasing a shaky breath. ‘‘ Y-You scared me...! And your hands... they feel like ice – uh.... here. ‘‘ It was uncomfortable, turmoil of feelings swirling behind his head but a gentleman never had to stop being one just for that.

       Even if it meant discarding so many feelings the other might not even perceive much... At least? it meant having those eyes back on him, even the littlest part of him screamed not to, like a poison that worked slow. Whatever of it it’s shoved back into nothing and warm hands hold the ones from the younger. The mask today was the most polite one with some affection mixed in it. ‘’ Perhaps we should go inside! ...And get you better sweaters, that one doesn’t warm anyone. ‘’

“You know,” Ladybug began, blue eyes scanning up and down Hikaru’s frame. “A suit was really nice on you, but I have to say, the skin tight outfit is a little nicer.” A new Miraculous user meant a new costume, the fabric hugging the male’s skin and leaving very little to the imagination. The spotted hero’s grin grew wider as she shifted some on the rooftop, legs dangling off the ledge, seated with a perfect view of the city, and a small tap to the spot at her side.

Honestly I think most songs people put on playlists for them don’t fit at all, so I kinda lost patience with them.I’ve been putting together a playlist that I think fits best, but I know my taste in music isn’t everyone’s cup of tea…
