Designing for Health: Book
Being and Dying's trial researcher, Dominik Junker from St Gallen, Switzerland was tasked with transforming the experience of the holistic health workshop – led by Jamie Robson – into a short book for the researchers at Fabrica to use as reference afterwards.
The book crystallises some of the key themes of the workshop. For example, that exercise should be effortless and formless or that breathing should form the foundation of all your movement and activity.
Typographically experimental and loose, demonstrating the fluidity of movement that we should strive for, the book is a creative condensation of  teachings, exercises, remarks and ideas that promote the notion of a genuinely holistic life.
Find out in advance who will be absent on which day to plan testimonies accordingly.
the 6th period Juliet, who told me the DAY BEFORE her testimony she wouldn't be there because the track team was leaving school early
What I liked about the trial was that it was pretty easy and it was a lot better than doing work.
a 1st period student, who apparently has noooo idea that she completed way more work than she would have with a paper or a test
I'm excited because they're excited.
Ya know?

My student that does mock trial for fun made a good point.
If the class voted for the Friar to be the defendant, then they’re already biased against him. So how can I make the jury scoring less biased? I said it’s not all that different than the media’s influence on major trial these days, but still. He has a point. I’m considering ways to make a point value per witness (add them if you believe their questioning; subtract if cross-examination lessened it; etc) so that it could be added up from all jurors and averaged. Any brilliant ideas for me?
Day 1 of Trial Prep: Success
I now feel validated in accidentally staying at school so late yesterday. There was nary a blink from students when asked to get started -- they were golden after handing out the assignments sheets (freely adapted from everyfiredies, tomesaway's experiences, and other trial projects [doc] online) and explaining a.) their specific tasks for the next two days and b.) the overview/timeline of the entire project. Even my first period got it, and they struggle sometimes.
Lots of excitement in the air, folks. All around us.
