Unfortunately, My summer outdoor adventuring has mostly come to a close. With the exception of the one-a-month outing into the outdoors, its mostly just nose to the grindstone at school and work. Three studio art classes is tough, with projects easily taking up to 20 hours each to complete, and one thing i've had to think about more lately, is how difficult it is to be constantly creative. With two photography classes and a screen printing class each with multiple projects, coming up with new concepts and ideas that I’m excited about and then executing them in 3-4 weeks is - needless to say - incredibly difficult. Time management has become a much bigger issue than it ever has been in the past. Sometimes I wish I was majoring in something more traditional where as a student you read a book, write a paper, and take a test. At least in that sort of a method of study there is a right and wrong answer. Art is subjective, which means that either everyone is always right, or everyone is always wrong all the time. Either way, its exhausting. All that to say, that even though my summer landscapes photos are going to be fewer and further between, I have been busy! In the next few weeks I will be straying away from my normal outdoor themed work to show you what my photography and other works looks like in "real life" and what being a real life creative looks like. First off, I started making candles! These are made from genuine handmade Navajo pottery. Originally I set out to make pretty candles for myself from all natural beeswax, but they were so cute, I threw them up on Etsy and sold one in less than a day.
