E-stock and E-shop
Now folks, hold on to your horses, I just found a seriously interesting topic to tell you about! If you are like me, you like to know what’s hot and what’s not currently, who to look out for, what to pay attention to. I like to be smart and savvy, and I want to share my wisdom with you! You can thank me another time ;-)
Lately I have been doing research on e-selling platforms as they just seem like the smartest way to manage any retail business - no stock, no inventory, no worry! What you sell, you order, it gets shipped to your client, you never store it in huge boxes in your basement as food for clothes moths. This even had me wanting to start a shop again!
I rarely follow stocks, but sometimes it can be so interesting, simply to find out how any company is really doing, as this is a real measurement of a large company’s success. If there is even a small glimpse of business fail, stocks go down and vice versa. Here you can also see the competitors, trending business categories and just look into future a bit more. I found this article by James Brumley very informative: https://investorplace.com/2019/01/steeper-competition-could-be-a-headwind-for-shopify-stock/ For example, when I was thinking about e-commerce business, first in mind always came Shopify.com, no doubt about it. I thought they were already giants in this field, but turns out they still have some growing to do and to reach GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles ) profitability they still need time and development. And to my surprise, they have competitors: Storefronts by Amazon, Marketo and Magento by Adobe, Etsy, Wix. For any of these platforms rules are different, concept - same, and if you apply dropshipping service, you can use either one of them, depending on the level you want to be involved, how much personal touch you wish to add, how much help you need with marketing and seo, etc.
Dropshipping is an awesome way out of keeping stock and who knew there are so many suppliers out there: https://www.bigcommerce.com/blog/dropshipping-companies/#best-dropshipping-suppliers these are just few best of them...So is it really so easy? I have ordered few items from Aliexpress before and know exactly the quality and time frame of delivery. Even though it is cheap, it is poor quality and poor delivery. If I had a client, I would never wish them to receive my order like that. I want quality stuff, preferably not made in china, preferably not made of suspicious materials and definitely without delivery time of ONE MONTH! who can wait that!!!!???? I am sure, I can find my perfect niche and supplier for my most valued customer.
By now I am seriously considering doing this, I have to find a niche and research a good, fast, reliable dropship partner (supplier) who will deliver high quality product, nicely packaged and in timely manner and will not charge an arm and a leg for this service. I am off to doing my research for the perfect product...what will it be...printed t-shirts, kids clothes or dog leashes....i’ll tell you after my search is done! I’ll start with this article: https://www.ecomdash.com/top-ecommerce-niches-2019/#comment-13434
