    bottom  lip  trembles  slightly  at  his  words,  blue  hues  glistering  with  tears.  she  never  would  have  expected  sam  to  lie  to  her  --  let  alone  keep  a  secret  this  big.  but  he  had  and  now  she  knows  the  truth  --  he  used  to  kill  people  like  her.  “so  instead  of  telling  me  the  truth  you  lied?”  caroline  inquires,  betrayal  lacing  her  every  word.  she  looks  away  for  a  second,  trying  to  make  some  sense  of  what  she  is  feeling  but  she  cannot.  because  the  more  she  thinks,  the  stupider  she  feels.  “what  even  was  i  to  you?  the  stupid  vampire  who  told  you  all  our  secrets  so  you  could  kill  us  easier?  your  next  victim?  god,  sam  --  i  trusted  you!  and  you  don’t  get  to  make  me  feel  bad  for  being  upset”,  the  blonde  replies,  her  voice  tone  almost  reaching  the  point  of  yelling  as  tears  roll  down  porcelain  cheeks.  “i  trusted  you.”

    “no,  i--”,  a  nervous  chuckle  escapes  glossy  lips,  fingertips  brushing  away  some  loose  curls  as  she  attempts  to  find  the  right  words  to  explain  herself.  “i  liked  it,  sam.  i  really,  really  liked  it.  because  i  really,  really  like  you.  i  just  --  you  caught  me  by  surprise.”

It’s not often that the Lakeshore strangler finds himself bored, but having drifted to an unfamiliar city he admittedly isn’t sure where to head to find entertainment. To add insult to injury, the streets are mostly empty... until icy eyes catch sight of a smartly dressed youth passing innocuously by.

            “    don’t know what you’re trying to look for,  kid,  but don’t think you’re gonna find it.    ”    research.    that was something he was going to have to do when he traveled from town to town now.    it was supposed to be new,  territory he had not touched that he could prey upon.    yet the longer he stayed there,  the more he learned it was a mistake.    vampires had been here before and some people knew the telltale signs of it.    like this kid.    brows furrowed as he looked down to the other before turning his gaze away,  back to the sidewalk before him.    “    you sound delusional.    ”
