Not bad for a night's work!

After all my Tiny Tree people I suppose I could show off my BIG tree people.

WOOD ELVES!

Hi, ya'll! Long time no see, sorry to have worried you. My whole friend and gaming group kinda fell apart there for a bit, but we're SLOWLY making our way back to normal, and I'm rallying the troops for some super casual OPR once again. This time, we're aiming for Age of Fantasy. I've decided I'm going to get going on my Wood Elves, so I threw together a little list for Skirmish - 1 Treeman Elder, one unit of [3] Treemen, one Forest Watch, and 3 War Dancers. I decided to give them a purple undercoat, a white zenethal, and then hit them one more time with a thin purple wash to bring some of the shadows back into the top areas.

I started with the Treemen, because they'd be easiest. Always manage your own motivation - the Treemen were an easy win, an I can use the enthusiasm I get from finishing them off to roll into the next ones with a full head of steam.

They're a pretty simple Wyldwood contrast over the zenethal, a drybrush of beige. The eyes were done thick in Lavender and then pick out the pupils and tongues in white for a subtle glow. Leaves were picked out with white and then hit with Creed Camo contrast.

The basing was done with texture paste, and while it was still wet, I had cut open a teabag and used the loose tea as basing material. It looks far more like forest floor / loam than any sand or regular texture paste would.

I also cut a small piece of a furnace air filter off, and shredded a small loose bit from it. I painted it with yellow ink to turn it green, and then superglued it loosely to the upper branches. This bulks out the branches and gives the flocking far more surface area to sit on, so the trees don't look so sparse.
