Our First Manhattan Mission
We ventured to the Lower East Side recently to set free a young tree from a brutally placed bicycle u-lock. This was our first mission in Manhattan and as you can see from the before-during-after photo sequence above it was a success.
Thanks to M. Williams for identifying and sending in the tree.
The very nice people at Uber have donated $20 gift cards to The Treedom Project. Anyone who Reports-A-Tree will not only receive a free Treedom Project sticker, but also a $20 gift card from Uber.
This means you can take a free ride to your tree (or anywhere else Uber services) in a stylish car from Uber. Which is actually even more convenient now that they've been cleared by the New York City Taxi and Limousine Commissions to also include yellow taxis in their fleet.
Thank you Uber
Tagged two trees earlier with @greenpointers. Excited for the article on the way.
Application of the "Is this yours?" card is in full effect. #treedomproject

And the logo looks like this:
THE LOGO huge props go out to Ben Martel for help and assistance designing the Treedom Project logo.
BONUS FACT: The tree in the logo design is a Japanese Zelkova which is the same tree we freed the first chain from in the Treedom Project video.

What in the heck is Treedom Project?
We got a dog in December who requires a lot of walking. Which is I guess how the idea came to be. I spent the winter walking the dog and looking at trees, and continuing to notice people affixing chains, locks, and other debris to my arbol friends. Take a trip to the ABOUT page and see what this whole thing is about.
Out scouting trees over the weekend and came across some potential targets for freeing come May26th, 2013.
We'll be sure to include a "Is this yours card?" on each of these three trees.
