The Adventures of TreeBot. #2: Aaand I missed a day.
So. I missed a day, but nonetheless, I shall continue.
When I first began thinking of building a 3d printer, I did a lot of online research. I searched Google, Instructables, you name it, for any and all things 3d printing.
You wouldn’t believe how long it took me to actually find the RepRap wiki.
Before I did, I got inspired by the guy and his $60 e-waste 3d printer. I looked all over and before I even knew what I was doing, I was gathering parts. Unfortunately the build was not documented in a very detailed fashion, and I, knowing nothing of 3d printing, found it hopeless.
So, you know (emphasis I did not know anything about 3d printing) I decided just to build my own from the ground up.
First, I discovered the RepRap wiki AND LEARNED THERE WAS AN IRC CHANNEL. So suddenly I had countless hours of experience and trial and error within my grasp, as long as I ask the right questions! I began searching through 3d printer designs to build, settling on a wooden frame Prusa I3. But NOPE.
I actually have no idea why I decided this, but I was going to design my own printer, to meet my own exceedingly strict standards. (I literally needed a printer that would fit in my tiny, tiny room).
For a while it was a pipe dream, and I thought I would never actually get around to doing anything with the idea, as has happened with nearly all of my “brilliant” ideas in the past. But no more! TreeBot shall live!
