#before eventually either figuring out how to kill and eat them and metabolize them for calories. Also uh they don’t live indefinitely so

#Grace needs to breed astrophage on a smaller scale to feed the taumeoba or he needs to breed something else to feed them

#And if they eat human cells then game over for Grace he ded from the brain eatin taumeoba so like that’s not an option ha

#Other options include: the taumeoba ain’t the only microcreatures he got and he can breed those for either food or other nutrients

#He can AgricultureTM the taumeobas to overproduce certain organic chemicals at a larger scale and then refine it into a powder like irl

#he starts the autocannibalism early but it’s just like. not meat just horrible little slurries of nutrients derived from his own cells

#he takes some of Rocky’s food and tries to determine if he can extract anything edible from that (maybe he can’t but it would be a good plo

#misdirect) OR he takes cells from ant food he does have onboard and does something with that? He can’t mark Watney it but like. It’s someth

#Anyway this is really fun to think about honestly and while I had little interest in biology before this I am starting to geek out tryna
