It was like Joel wasn’t able to help himself when he ran into his exes. He walked up to Babs, shit eating grin on his face. “Did you enjoy the rest of your Strawberry Festival?”

The Watering Can was a regular spot for Travis. He liked to go there to have a beer or two and he was always sure to run into a friend. That particular night, it was someone quite different he spotted at the bar. Babs. “What’re you doing here?” He asked, turning to look at her. “I’m jus’ tryin’ have a beer in peace.”

“So, what do you think the best ice cream flavor is at Custard’s? I was having a debate the other day. It’s definitely peaches n’ cream.”

“Thanks so much for teaching me how to skate.” Jolene was wobbling on her skates grabbing a bench. “It’s like riding a bike, right? I used to skate when I was a kid. It drove my Mom crazy. She said I’d get man feet if I kept it up.”

“Well, if it isn’t Trailer Girl.” Joel sauntered up to the blonde eating his ice cream cone from Custard’s leaning against the booth Babs was near. He looked over at the booth seeing it was the ‘make your own strawberry shortcake’ booth. “Where’s your Dad?” He took another lick of his ice cream before his face screwed up into a confused look. “I meant your boyfriend.”
