When Travis was born to Eva and Dwight Fletcher, the young woman instantly felt a weight on her chest as soon as she stared her newborn in the eyes. Travis had trapped Eva in a marriage that she’d honestly thought was loveless. If she wanted to run, she’d have to take him– there was no way she could leave him with Dwight. Travis’ childhood was fine, but it mostly consisted of his mother teaching him how to avoid Dwight at all costs. It wasn’t like Dwight wanted much to do with the “crying little twerp” anyways. When Travis was about six years old, he was so excited about his new little sibling on the way. Travis had an entire list of things they would do together as soon as the baby was born. He didn’t really have the chance to make any friends at school since his parents picked him up the second the bell rang so they could make it home in time for their favorite TV shows or to go on a nightly bender with some friends. When Harvey was born, six-year old Travis knew he’d be protecting the kid for the rest of his life.

When the boys’ mother ran off not too long after Harvey was born, Travis started to go through quite the rebellious phase as he entered his early teens. That’s what mommy issues do, right? He’d get in trouble with his teachers, the principle, and even several guidance counselors. Travis would get caught smoking on campus, harassing other students, and hanging out with an awful group of boys. However, his father leaving him and Harvey was what flipped the switch. Travis couldn’t bare to think of Harvey doing any of the same things he was doing now. At eighteen, Travis started getting his life together for the sake of his little brother. He tutored him, attended all his games and school events, he even baked for some school potlucks. Of course his old friends came around, asking Travis to be the driver for various stunts (robberies, car thefts, etc.) and Travis needing the extra cash agreed. He had to support himself and Harvey somehow, and his fast food job wasn’t cutting it.

So when Harvey came to Travis scared out of his mind about the fire, Travis decided to take the fall. The cops were on the hunt for him anyway after some cameras caught him mid theft. He didn’t want Harvey to know, so he decided to cover it up with the fact that he was the one who started the fire. Travis served for eleven years and just got out of prison less than three days ago. He’s back in Cassle to attempt to settle into a quieter life.
