Lizzie had been sure that the coast was clear. She’d been at the hospital on call all night and she missed her kids and husband desperately but she also really missed sleep, so in the two hours she had between surgeries, she opted to use the time to get a well deserved nap in, settling into one of the on-call room beds and waiting for sleep to take over when she heard the door open and a beam of light from the well lit hospital hallways made her open her eyes. “no.. no no no, there are like.. 4 other Dr. Shepherds in this hospital can you please be looking for them and not me right now?” she asked, not even sure who had interrupted her nap but resisting being called for anything anyway.

Violet handed the intern next to her the chart. “Mr. Hendrix may have sniffed paint to get high, but it does not warrant a psych ward stay.” She said. “Just another typical teenager.” She rolled her eyes. “If my son ever huffs paint, I’m going to kill him. Violet drank her glass of champmage before turning to the person next to her. “Now, this is good champagne,” She said sniffling the glass like they did on her cooking shows. “I usually just go for the fourteen dollar wine at Trader Joe’s, so it’s nice to have a change.” She commented. “I am missing the great British Bake off for this event, but I think the free drinks make up for it,” She nodded in approval and took another small sip. She couldn’t come home tipsy. “Which department do you think will make the most money?” She asked.
