Probation was hardly something she was going to be caught completing, mostly because caught was the operative word when it came to all of this. South did not allow herself to get caught, at least not yet, but even her family knew how much trouble she could be, even if they didn’t have the proof they wanted. Which, explains why she was dragged out to watch her father supervise his people, the ones unfortunate to get assigned to him, that is. Vans currently kicked at a piece of trash on the ground, in front of her feet, before she looked up to see she wasn’t the only one there, anymore. “How big of an asshole would it make me if I said you missed a spot?” The hint of a grin was there, flirting with her features,. as she leaned one shoulder into the cool metal of the swings.

“You realize.” She sounds just as apprehensive as she is, never bothering to hide the emotion when it comes to the passion between them, the passion that is apparently built solely upon argument after argument. “If anything happens to the rest of them at this party, or this is some fucked up joke, I’ll never sign another one of these again.” She picked up the community service log, shaking the piece of paper for emphasis for a moment before finally handing it over to the other. “You got it?”

Roja knew all about how dangerous nightmares could be, and how they just kept coming back, even on the nights you were willing to sell your soul to be rid of them. That was probably why she started picking up the signs, she’d never been a heavy sleeper, after all. But, it was easy to see the pattern here and there, which meant this time when her roommate was up, just like the unspoken pattern they had established, she was already sitting on the counter in the kitchen, heating the water for tea. Her half assed smile was a trademark by now. “Took you long enough, I thought I was going to be out here by myself.” 

“you’ll never believe what happened to me today,” dana begins, her words a little careful as she drops down beside ryan in the otherwise empty movie theater. this is their bi-weekly movie date - though it’s not a date, but a friend hang? ryan is her best friend and every two weeks they see a movie together on thursday night’s... it’s just their thing. the opening trailers haven’t even begun to roll, yet, as they’re still playing ads on the big screen and they’ve chosen a less popular movie this week so there’s only one other person in the theater sitting in the second row from the front whereas she and ryan always choose one of the rows in the back. “trinity asked me out... like... on an actual date,” she continues after a beat, reaching into ryan’s lap to grab a handful of popcorn from the bucket they always share. “isn’t that wild? she wants to to the carnival on saturday, but i told her you and i already had plans to go, so i guess we’re doing dinner on sunday?” she finishes. truth is? dana would rather spend her time with ryan, would rather go on a date with ryan, but she’s too much of a chicken shit to say anything on the matter because ryan’s her best friend and she doesn’t want to do anything to destroy that. what if they tried and it blew up in their faces? what if ryan doesn’t feel the same way? there are too many variables and truthfully, dana isn’t that brave.
