while I was searching for your series , I mistakenly remembered it as an AU based on The Thing. and although I haven't seen the movie, the idea of Dream and Hob being on an antarctic research expedition together (monster or not) was super appealing to me. Have you ever thought of writing a human-au of that nature? you do the frozen wasteland setting so much justice <3
[and if you think a scientist hob would be ooc, my uncle worked as a garbage man in an antarctic research station. so you don't have to be an expert to seek a bit of adventure in those parts ; ) ]

I hadn't thought about that concept before but ngl I sure am now!! human aus are a little hit or miss for me, they're not always my thing, but... I kind of love the idea of antarctic researcher hob. tbh I'd love to see more fic with hob as a scientist, I think really leaning into his curiosity and fascination with new things and ideas is such a neat direction to take him!
