So @thisautistic and I were discussing how Jack and Tang Yi both have similar manners of speaking in History 3: Trapped, and found out that Andy and Chris are both from Taipei province, which would explain having similar accents. The question is: do their accents indicate anything about their characters?
Idk if I have many mutuals/followers who speak Mandarin or have enough knowledge to provide context, but I'd love the input if I could get some. I simply noticed that they both speak with more closed-mouth movements, particularly with Jack, and wondered how much of their manner of speaking was a deliberate choice. Were they cast because of their natural accents and how that would lend to the portrayal of their given characters? They have such different personalities, but work closely together, so I assumed their speech habits came from another factor.
