just wanted to clear up some misinformation I've seen spreading regarding Hungary making legal transition for trans and intersex people illegal

yes, Orbán does have complete power over the parliament rn, but this bill was presented to the whole parliament, not just fidesz, and every party voted on it.

it got a yes vote from all but 8 people. 8. regardless of their political affiliation every single party in that room collectively decided to take basic human rights away from every trans and intersex person in Hungary.

this isn't to say "oh see fidesz aren't the only horrible ones" this is to say this problem goes way beyond them and that transphobia and conservatism is ingrained in the core of this country and in all the disgusting subhumans who decided this bill should be passed.

#I've been in such a state of shock since this happened like I can't even process this #they're not even conservatives they're actively progressing backwards #and i know *so* many of the people involved in passing it.....#nothing feels real anymore #lmbt #lgbt #transz #transgender #transphobia #trans rights #transznemű
