"Because you want to?" He repeats back slowly. It surprised him that it was worded that way. As easily as it could be the impatience of a Transformer who wanted to get this infiltration scheme over and done with as part of him suspected. The want caught his attention. If it was a want, truly a want, a choice that they were making, then he wanted to give them that choice.
He pings Silverbolt again to tell him to stand down.
"Is that so hard to believe!?" Wildrider's engine growls, and he wobbles on his wheels.
"It is. Megatron made you to destroy Autobots, what makes you want to join our side?"
They're quiet again. They may not have considered that Optimus would say no or not believe them. Some of Megatron's slander against them must have given the Stunticons the impression they would simply allow them to do whatever they want as long as it was for their faction. Perhaps Megatron had packaged it as they were already dull, simple-minded machines that would tail after any lifeform. Serve any lifeform. They should be serving the superior ones. After all, is that not what they were built for? Is that not what Megatron threatened every conflict? He tries not to be angry about this because it is Megatron's rhetoric, and if the Stunticons are truly honest, he will have to teach them why it's wrong. It is hard to make his fingers loosen their grip on the rifle. It is Megatron he is angry with, not the Stunticons. He will have to teach them why it’s wrong.
Snippet of something I've been writing about the stunticons pulling an aerialbots and deciding to swap sides. Something about deconstructing hate you've been taught.
