Transitions Week 8
This week of transitions I was asked to write a 100 word reflection about a moment within the project that we used critical thinking. I chose week 6 where I learned about SEMIOTICS.
Transition Unit Week 7
This were asked to:Â
Collect together various art supplies that you own (pens, paper, sketchbooks, cameras etc)
Go for a 10-minute walk.
At the end of that 10 minute walk, find the first thing/object that catches your attention.
Decide on a space and note its latitude and longitude (google maps).
Generate a random prompt (Links to an external site.)and using it as inspiration spend 20 Minutes documenting and recording as much as you can about it. Consider different mediums and methods of collection and recording information.
Now write/create two visual or physical experimental responses about that object and prompt. These responses should be square in dimension. One response should be in a medium you are comfortable with (ie. photography, drawing etc) and one response should be in a medium you are uncomfortable with.
Combine your two square outcomes into one file file and upload it to the required submission area by 5pm.
Which was quite an interesting experience. Originally I was quite confused by the task but after speaking about it further with Mark I found my self understood with how to do this. Each step is to guide us into the right area allowing us to be as creative as we like with the 2 square outcomes in the end.
The outcomes that I have created are quite experimental and brave in comparison to my prompting I feel like that is a good thing as I like the examples that I have created.
We then added them to the pallet page along with our names, prompt and the latitude and longitude of its destination.
Transition Unit Week 6
This week during the Transition Unit we were split into groups of four and were set a task to find an advertisement that we disagreed with and analysed why it didn't work. We also had to mockup a quick design to see how we would change it to improve the message / what we didn't agree with.
After analysing the advertisement that we picked, being a Calvin Klein instagram promotion from 2016 with an inappropriate message within it promoting sexual harassment.
I then used Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to redesign a better more suitable message and over all design.
We then analysed what we've changed to improve it.
Transition Unit Week 4
 This week we were informed how to look up resources for research within the library’s data base. After this we was tasked to find a book and look into it. I then uploaded a description on the book and how it relates to my course / unit.
I then had to comment on someone else’s post that has found a book that may be interesting to me.

Transition Unit Week 3
This week we were asked to take to display all the mediums that we have explored in terms of research within the current point at out project. This was to take a brief look into what else I could look into. As Shown the things I have looked into the most were websites so I now know where else to explore within my research.
I also grabbed 3 things that my classmates have done like listening to a podcast or reading a news article. These are things that most likely could be applied within my work.
This task has been quite helpful for my project.Â
Transition Unit Week 2
This week for the transition unit we were informed of the importance of planning and organisation. The task set was to get our Tumblr blogs up to date along with adding hashtags towards the images to allow us to collect the different tasks together.
Transition Week 1
We were asked to share a piece of work that supports our interest in our chosen course. I chose the piece seen above and I applied a short analysis of why it inspires me as a visual communicator / designer. I also commented on others posts with work that I find interesting.
