"Getting HRT is hard because it's life altering and the person needs to be properly diagnosed first!" You know what else is life altering? Suicide. You know what I was prescribed in a highly suicidal state? Meds to calm me down that may also make me kill myself faster instead. How long did it take? One visit. You know what else needs to be properly diagnosed? BPD. You know how many people [usually afab] I've seen who were improperly diagnosed, turned out to be autistic instead, and the treatment they were getting was actively harming them? Too many. Why is it that people take "life altering" as reason to control other, full grown adults' lives? deciding to move to another country, having a child, getting married etc are all also life altering, yet nobody is forced to defend their case to a guy in a white coat for literal YEARS in order to proceed with ANY of these. Why is it that people assume somebody would go through all this trouble [and not to mention money] just for shits and giggles? Or just because they're delusional due to another disorder? I feel like it would be pretty fucking obvious to tell the difference, but that might just be me. Anyway, cheers to all the other transgenders out there who are in the same boat as I, keep living or whatever. Best of luck to ya.
