The chemicals that make up batteries in gas vehicles are different than the chemicals you find in household batteries. 12-16v car battery acid is a blueish green. It's also doesn't just burn chemically (corrosive), it also burns temperature-wise. The reaction that causes the corrosion also releases heat, that's why a 12v will just get really hot while a lithium ion battery can just explode when the chambers are punctured (aka mix too fast) and why lithium ion fires are so hard to put out.
