I'm an evil dungeon master
The lowkey theme of my D&D game is metamorphoses
So I've got a player character who is a government experiment, an angel's vessel, destined for Ascension
He's been good friends with another player character, a warlock who's sharing his head with a demon - involuntarily, it's a family debt. The warlock's a little stupid, and likes to charge into danger head-first, this has gotten him killed on several occasions, and between his demon and the angel they've barely been managing to keep him alive - by now he's a skeleton held together by magic, and the best bros can't even touch each other anymore without it being painful due to being polar opposites in terms of energy
The angel has known about the demon for a while, and finally confronted it after a long time in yesterday's game session. They had a little chat, a little banter, and then the demon asked the angel for an offering, since he was called forth and they learned information from it - there is of course no basis to this, so it couldn't enforce it, but the angel, ever honest, thought he really had to, and offered to give up the memories of his best friend
The warlock was horrified, as he thought he was the best friend, and his patron gladly took the powerful memories freely given. The demon proceeded to then show the warlock the memories, and add cheerily "Well, you are his best friend now, you're welcome :)"
