My last OC for artfight this year!! Im free from ref sheet purgatory! My nuke nerd tendencies are showing but whatever. Fun fact L* is the variable of neutron leakage in a theoretical infinite reactor. Its awesome. This is the vague backstory i have for them as of now, ill probably change it up: L*(pronounced el star) was built as a cold construct with the alt mode of a nuclear reactor during the early days of the war. Their construction was part of an effort to find alternative sources of energy. Their altmode allows them to go without energon for 200 human years (not that its a very enjoyable process) They were sent on a mission to look for more inhabitable planets as a power systems engineer and power source for the ship. However, into the mission, pirates attacked the ship, leaving the crew dead, with the exception of L* who escaped on a heavily damaged escape pod. Left with a subpar engine and few choices, they were forced to set course for Cybertron and go into stasis, relying on their inbuilt power generation to survive. After many mishaps and failures, they finally returned to Cybertron, just to find it in ruins and infested with Decepticons and the small resistance force of the remaining Autobots on Cybertron lead by Elita. Eventually they made their way to Earth via Spacebridge. With dwindling supplies of Plutonium and Uranium on Cybertron, materials required for their survival, they were deemed to be of more use on Earth. Some fun facts: Once they get to Earth they become friends with Hound and enjoy the alien ecosystems there. Their travel is greatly limited though by the many nuclear organizations on Earth, all of which demand about 20 different licensees for them to be anywhere in each country.
