Transfemme Jay au
Jay looked into the ice and looked into the eyes of herself. It made her gasp, hands covering her mouth in awe as she twisted and turned in the reflection. It was like she, for the first time in her life, truly saw herself. The woman in the reflection was older, perhaps in her 20s or early 30s, and had long wavy auburn brown hair, reaching to at least the waist. She was grinning, lips blue and the multicoloured eyes of Jay herself lighting up in, well, lightning. Her freckles seemed to have spread too. It was truly wholly her. Jay Walker.
It took several minutes for her to even realise an older Nya was standing beside her older reflection, and in the moment Jay found she cared more about her own reflection than the girl she was in love with. She wanted desperately to be that woman, knew true in her heart it already is her. But aesthetically, the confidence, the knowing and owning who you are? Jay had no idea how to do that, how to be that.
