3 months have passed. I’m doing well.
Today, I rode my bike for the first time after surgery. It felt amazing and enjoyed my re-gained independence quite a lot. Surgery went well: 12 days at the hospital, catheter for 9; no complications, no strictures or fistulas. I was very lucky.
I want to note a few things during my surgery and recovery process that I didn’t anticipate:
- cramps. I experienced severe cramps in my vaginal walls after they closed up the hole. I didn’t expect to feel my former opening as intense (actually, I thought I wouldn’t feel surgical wounds in there at all) and as painful as it turned out. Cramps happened randomly throughout the day. Pain worsened during orgasm (first, gentle orgasm at 3 weeks post-op was a painful relief). I learned only recently that quite a bunch of people experience these cramps after this kind of surgery and that high dose of magnesium often help alleviate cramping.
- the bleeding. I bled through my new urethra almost 5.5 weeks post-op (my urologist reassured me that until 6 weeks after surgery there would be no need to be concerned).
- the human experience. It was the first time I was totally dependent on other people. I wasn’t allowed to bend down for the first days. My phone fell of my hospital bed and I had to wait until some of the care stuff would get it for me. Eventually, we all get there, but I didn’t anticipate how much this new experience needs to be processed.
- peeing. I thought I’d love to STP from the very beginning of my surgical preparition as I mentioned here before. I had my first trial at the urinals at 4 weeks post-op in a cinema and it all went well. At 5 weeks I used the urinals at work for the first time. I practiced a lot, still figuring things out and went for a hiking trip at 10 weeks, bonding with my tiny peen in the nature. Hell, I love pissing now. And I didn’t know how much I’d love it.
- my cock. I love my cock. I made a bunch of dick pics. I uploaded them on a queer dating app and I exchanged pics with some folks there. I’m contemplating to show my cock on a side blog. I never thought I’d be this confident.
