Inglewood Bird Sanctuary and Nature Center – Free Admission
Located in the Calgary South East, Inglewood Sanctuary is the place where you can explore a lot of walking trails and see a wide variety of birds and other animals. There are over 270 species of birds visiting the sanctuary every year. In addition, there is other wildlife like deer, different types of fish, and 27 types of butterflies.

Glenbow Museum– Free First Thursday of Each Month 5-9 pm
This art and history museum was formed in 1966. Their art collection keeps 33,000 works relating to the northwest of North America dating from the 19th century to present. The collections in the museum relate to Cultural history, Ethnology, Military history, Mineralogy, and Asian collection. The regular admission fee is $16 but on the first Thursday of each month from 5-9 pm, the visit is free.

Spruce Meadows – Free Admission
Spruce Meadows is a horseback riding facility in Calgary opened in 1976. Six major outdoor tournaments and eight indoor tournaments are held there, annually. If you want to go and see an outdoor tournament, it only costs $5. Other than that, you can visit Spruce Meadows for free. If there is not an ongoing tournament, you can go into the barn area to see the horses, too.

Century Downs Racetrack is an "A-level" horse racing track in the north of Calgary. Since 2008, they have offered live horse racing in Calgary.

Chinese Cultural Centre – Free Entrance, $5 for Museum
Completed in 1992, Chinese Cultural Centre in Calgary is modeled after the Hall of Prayers of the Temple of Heaven in Beijing. On the lower level is the Artifact Museum exhibiting the history of Chinese immigration in Canada. There is a library on the second floor with lots of books in Chinese and English.
