Romanced companions and advisors finding out the Inquzzie is trans? Thanks!
I want to inform people that I did my best writing this, but I actually have no transgender people in my life to ask about these things? Surprisingly, despite living in a big city on a school designed for aesthetics there aren’t anyone with gender pronouns other than their cis ones. Sexualities- yeah but that’s about it. So if something is out of play or is written in a way that may seem insensetive, PLEASE tell me as I will do my best to fix it. In my country this is a subject that is touched upon, but in the end we can still be rather old-fashioned with wording and shit.
EDIT: I deadass forgot the advisors, adding rn (18/05/05)
Cassandra: The seeker is suprised and taken aback, there aren’t a lot of people around her that said they weren’t the gender assigned to at birth; but in the end she has no issues with it. If the inquisitor says he is a man, then he is a man. She will respect his decision and if anything support him since she knows from just seeing that man from the chargers having to deal with. Cassandra is awkward around the subject at first; unsure as to what is okay and what isn’t- but she is quick to learn and pick up what she needs to do for her lover to feel comfortable being himself and how to threaten prying eyes.
Solas: In the past there weren’t many whom claimed to be born with the wrong pronouns attached to them; you were born and did the best of what that was for as long as Solas remembers. So he asks questions, ut when he finds out it could potentially make the Inquisitor uncomfortable he ceases and reminds her that she is the most beautiful woman he has ever met and that won’t change. If anyone were to ever question the inquisitors gender or identifiation they would have to deal with an extremely protective elven Apostate.
Dorian: Dorian isn’t one to care; it’s not like he is a Tevinter angel exactly so he feels no real right to judge. He will ask harmless questions; mainly to see if his Amatus has any worries or need help with anything. However he gets most of his information from Krem, surprisingly. He can’t find the time to sit down and alk with the Inquisitor as he runs around Thedas; and Krem doesn’t mind helping and if anything is happy to do so. Dorian wouldn’t act differently; at first he may question himself in terms of what he is interested in sexually but he is quick to come to terms that he loves his Amatus and nothing will change that. Nobles will have to go through the Tevinter mage should they have any poison in their words.
Sera: She doesn’t get it at first- but really doesn’t care. Inky is Inky no matter what, Inky is a woman in her eyes and that’s that. If anyone tries to say differently they will be bombarded with pranks, bees or arrows- their pick really. She will tell her Inky how pretty she is and that women in Thedas better step up a level because they have nothing against her. She knows that sometimes people will say dumb shit (mainly nobs) and Sera is quick to support her lover due to this. She is filled to the brim with love and compliments if Inky needs it.
Blackwall: It takes some minutes of explaining, honestly. Blackwall hasn’t met a lot of transgender people or someone with other pronouns than their assigned one at birth and the subject itself can be puzzling at times. But he does his best in being a supportive boyfriend to his inquisitor. Sometimes he may ask question that are rather sensitive but is quick to follow up with an apology if the Inquisitor is uncomfortable. Really it’s a crash course of learning from him so he ends up asking Bull for tips on how to help the Inquisitor not live with dysphoria or how to help with prying eyes. In the end he becomes a protective man loving his wife and nothing can change that; he loves the Inquisitor for them and they are the most beautiful woman in the world to him.
Iron Bull: His first reaction is to ask if Krem knows, because he knows better than anyone that Krem has nobody that FULLY understands the mans struggles and he can’t always help him during moments of dysphoria or when people say shit he doesn’t understand fully; just knows hurt. He doesn’t care though, hell the Inquisitor would only loose him at ‘I’m secretly a demon’ or some shit other than that he really doesn’t care. If he so has to remind them everyday that he loves them for them, and that they feel this way is valid he will do so, because he truly cares about the Inquisitor and does his best to be supportive.
Josephine: She has met a few transgender nobles and merchants in her years so she knows in general how to approach the subject should it come up in conversation. She makes sure to remind the Inquisitor that she honestly don’t mind nor care about what they were labeled at birth because she loves them for them. She will be a supportive girlfriend for the Inquisitor and anyone who dares open their mouth to spew some hatred may find that their reputation is falling at a dangerous rate. Josie doesn’t accept biggots, noble or not.
Cullen: When the Inquisitor tells him he looks at her before slowly nodding and looking down at his reports again, stating that he honestly don’t mind and that they are a woman if they identify as one. He will however be quick to realize his stressed but harsh answer is a little too sparse of support and stand up and give her a hug. Thanking her for informing him before their relationship got extremely serious; but that he honestly doesn’t mind. He loves her for her, nothing else and he will do his best to support her.
