piper always wears her mother's jewellery -- a set of silver rings and her watch as a way of carrying her with them -- and a necklace with a silver chess piece on it. she almost always has some kind of weapon on her -- her service weapon, a knife -- and a black penlight. she used to carry her sobriety chip on her to keep her grounded, but she gave that to spencer to encourage his own sobriety and give him a physical thing to work towards. and she always has a journal on her persons at all times.

anyone in her family and spencer, especially. she becomes relentless and ruthless when she loses them to an unsub. she also journals about every case she's worked, as a psychologist and profiler, and if she lost those, it wouldn't break her, but it would be a major breach of privacy because those details aren't anonymised.
