Last of her line to wake up; all Haitch could remember was angry voices and screams so she kept sleeping on. When she finally awoke, she was on a ship to America in her early days. Working in a shunting yard and doing small trips for kids with her new companion, a unnamed passenger break van who would keep her head on. Then she travelled to Kansas city for a bit more work until she was put aside and left.

It wasn't until a big green engine shared her shed, she would awaken to reassure him that he would be fine. They spoke while in Kansas City and while bidding her new friend away to likely sit and rust… He wouldn't allow that. She took part in her new friend's US adventures until the issues arose in San Francisco. There, to repay her debt to him, she would reassure him that he'd be saved, seeing as he was an important engine… and thankfully that day did arise. Though he wouldn't be escaping American Soil on his own and took her along on the way home to British soil where she would touch down again for the first time in 42 years. He managed to get her new owners, Cosette Sharp, who took the engine in and gave her the care and rebirth she needed. And new names for herself and her passenger break van; Dorothy and Toto.

In return, she did end up nicknaming her best friend, Oz or Ozzie for being the one to bring her home. She has been a constant help to her friend's woes and acts like a guide considering her age to his.

Now she works in showbusiness, acting as a supporting role for her new owners, Rhett and Sophie Sharp and their child, Madeline. Rhett and Sophie are a sharp detective duo and their proud engine takes them to their cases.
