Senioritis was hitting him hard; his only chance for getting any work done was to spend his free afternoons (and much of his evenings) at the library where there was no dog, no Dan, no other distractions that started with D or any other letter. He hadn’t paid much attention to who was around him when he found an empty seat, throwing his stuff carelessly on the table and fishing out a pencil that still had something of a decent eraser. He had been working for a solid fifteen minutes when he felt eyes on him. He wanted to ignore it...but he was having a hard time focusing on his homework because of it. He looked up with every intention of telling the other person off, until he realized who it was. Bailey. Almost as soon as he looked up, she looked down, trying and failing to look caught up in her own work. Shit. He looked around. There were so many empty seats and tables around them...would it be rude if he got up and moved? Yes, yes it definitely would. He couldn’t just sit there and say nothing though. That felt rude too. It wasn’t like this was a stranger--it was Bailey. Surely he could come up with a greeting...he could ask how she was...he could make small talk, pretend like there was never anything weird going on between them. That would be dumb. She would see through that...and he was better than that now. He had meant for them to mend their friendship, for them to be close again--or to have whatever it was they had before. He just needed to find a place to start--and then it hit him.
“Bailey…” He called out her name and it sounded like a question. Her eyes flickered to him and he could see all of his own feelings reflected in her eyes. They were both on edge, both uncertain as to what to expect from the other. “I’m not sure if you realize this but, uh.” He closed his textbook as he spoke and shoved it into his backpack. “We never really had a chance to have an in depth conversation about that book you lent me–you know, the Outsider one.” He watched her exhale a sigh of relief when she realized what he wanted to talk about. “Maybe we could do that now–I’m too hungry to focus right now... and if I’m going to get all this work done tonight I could use some coffee. Want to see if we can find a nice cafe off campus to hang out for a bit?” He offered her a smile he hoped came across as inviting. He was oddly nervous–but then she smiled back and suddenly it was all okay. It was all going to be okay.

I will write an angsty drabble about our characters.
Bailey hadn’t expected to get a call at two in the morning, especially not from Troy Banner of all people. She frowned at the screen, half asleep still as she picked up the call, pressing the phone to her ear,
“Hello?” She croaked out, unsure if it was maybe just a butt-dial because it wouldn’t be the first time. All she could hear was yelling, laughs, glasses clinking together, it didn’t take a lot for Bailey to realise that it sounded like he was in a bar- “Troy?” She asked, rubbing the sleep from her eyes, sitting up in bed. “Troy? Where are you? Do you need me to come get you?” She raised her voice to be heard in case Troy wasn’t even aware she was on the phone. But then there was silence for a moment and Bailey felt a worry rise throughout her, feeling more alert not.
“Phoebe?” Troy’s voice was slurred, and broken, it sounded like he was panting into the phone. As soon as he said her name, Bailey felt something within her go out, a sick tensing in her stomach.
“Troy…” She spoke quietly into the phone.
“Phoebe- miss you so much.” Troy’s voice was heavy on the phone, and Bailey didn’t even have to really look at the date on her phone in order for herself to clarify what Dan had told her nearly two years ago- today was the anniversary of Phoebe’s death.
“Troy- i… I’m not- i’m not her.” She said softly, her heart crushing into a million pieces of sadness for him.
“Phoebe. Phoebe, come-” There was a loud gulping noise, “Come back. I- we neeeed you.” There was some shouting now in the distance, and Bailey felt worried again, gripping her phone tightly in her hand.
“Troy, where are you? Let me come get you. Stay where you are. Please.”
“Are you- am i- i’ll get to see you again?” The hopefulness in his voice had Bailey falling back against her pillows, squeezing her eyes shut, her heart thundering in her chest. She didn’t know what to say, or what to do, or how to help, she hated feeling like this.
“…Yes.” She said finally, lost. “Yeah, you’ll see me again, Troy. Just. Stay where you are. I’m on my way.”
I’ll write a drabble about my character comforting yours
Bailey reached the pub that Troy said he was at, and she immediately told the cab driver to please wait before jogging out. She saw Troy sitting drunkenly on the curb, bottles surrounding him, he was heaving with air. As soon as he saw Bailey, he looked confused, drunkenly attempting to stand up and shaking his head in almost a comical way.
“No, no. What’re you doing here? I’m waiting for-”
“Phoebe. I know.” Bailey said, immediately reaching forward to sling an arm around him, trying not to pull a face at his breath mixed with alcohol panting onto her face. She had some trouble holding him upright, trying to pull him along to the cab, but he was resisting all the while. “Troy- stop- i’m trying to get you back.” She panted, continuing to try and pull him along, glad he was drunk because at least his strength wasn’t at full capacity.
“Nooo. Nope, i’ve got to wait. She said she’d come. She said i’ll see her again.” Troy was mumbling, falling back, almost causing Bailey to fall with him.
“Troy-” She tried again, exasperated.
“Need to- need to see her again. Miss her so much.” Troy was looking around like a lost puppy dog, and Bailey was tired and breathless and exhausted-
“Troy, she’s not here. She’s not coming.” She said, resigned. Troy seemed to sober up slightly at those words, blinking down at Bailey, looking confused and angry.
“No. She said- she said she’d meet me…” His words drifted off, a clicking seemed to go through him, and Bailey stumbled as she tried to hold him upright. “… She’s gone.” He said finally, his voice was quiet, the wind carrying it, blowing Bailey’s hair across her face. She didn’t know what to say to that, she just sighed softly, stopping her attempts to try and carry him to the cab.
“Troy…” Bailey licked her chapped lips, sympathy written on her face.
“She’s really gone, isn’t she?” And Troy was beginning to cry, really cry- cry unlike Bailey had ever seen before. His body was shuddering, his face crumpling in on itself, and he was heaving with the sobs that seemed almost painful for his body. Her own heart broke, her own eyes stinging with tears at seeing him undone like this. “She’s not coming. She’s not here.” The words continued to repeatedly fall from his mouth and Bailey let out a small sob of her own at seeing him like this and feeling unsure on how to help, Troy fell for a moment, right against her, and Bailey wrapped both of her arms around his large frame, hugging him tightly as his body continued to seize with sobs. For a moment he just leaned there and cried, but after a long, long moment- his arms wrapped around Bailey’s smaller figure, holding her close as his tears drenched down her front.
Name one of your favorite things about : Carter, Xavier, Troy, Stefan, Dan
This is hard already umm, okay.
Carter: His voice. I know it sounds silly, but his voice is just… Comforting to me. It reminds me of home, of family, of love. He’s also got a very distinct voice, or maybe that’s just me thinking so, so i mean… I can always spot him out in a crowd.
Xavier: Not fair. Okay. Okay one thing… Um… His… Just him. Can i say just him? He’s just. He’s got the best everything, you know? He’s like my friend soul mate. He makes me feel like how i feel before i jump into the pool, or how you feel when it’s really really hot, and you poke your leg out from under the covers and it’s so refreshing. You know?
Troy: His arms. Kidding. Not really. Also his humour. He’s just. He’s a good friend, he really is. He has a big heart, he just doesn’t show it much. He also has very nice cheekbones.
Stefan: I don’t want to sound vain but he’s like, the hottest guy in our school. But also… He’s easy to talk to, and he’s really intelligent, and he says things that make you think, you know? He just- he’s more then meets the eye and he surprises you a lot. I like that.
Dan: Um. His Hero Complex. It was always hard when we dated, and i mean… I liked how he always called me ‘sugar’. I. I’m sorry, actually, um, i don’t think i can answer this one right now..
A thought about them that they’d never share: Troy misses Bailey although he probably won’t admit it to himself or to others. There’s something good about her that being around her, sort of made him feel better about himself. If he could have friends that were such quality people, surely that meant he wasn’t so bad. And now that’s he has missed things up between them, he can’t help but realize maybe that’s not true...First impression of them: “Very small, big eyes, decent boobs...seems to very nervous around me for whatever reason.”Favorite thing about them: She sees the good in so many things and so many people, even him. Also she ran his fan club. Least favorite thing about them: She struggles to see the good within herself. Hopes for their future relationship: That they can somehow go back to being the way they were. That they can both just be happy for each other.
