Sooo I just came out of Avatar in IMAX, and well it's an Avatar film. You know what your getting. Satisfying to see as the earth people get whats coming to them, but three movies and and they're STILL not defeated. Come onnn. Anyway, i do like the matriarchal alien whales with their own culture, laws and councils. The whale council! Like that gave me heavy Last March of the Ents vibes. It did get me a little bit. 😅

Anyway the trailers 🤣😂

Walked in halfway through Project Hail Mary, which sucks because i'm really looking forward to that after reading the book. No audience reaction to the Mandolorian and Grogu. Zilch.

Great response to The Odyssey preview. Like you could feel really great tension, the score sounds amazing, and at the end there was some clapping. 🤣 Which for an Australian cinema, where we typically dont react that much, that says a lot. For a trailer!

Then... the Steve teaser lol. This really suffered by comparison being right after The Odyssey. No reaction. Maybe a few chuckles in my row but that's not really the response they were going for. The guy next to me audibly signed lmao but who knows if he's a Marvel fan at all.

I was actually really distracted when Steve got off the bike. It was clear they were focusing on his hanging the helmet on the side so that you'd notice his wedding ring. But whatever the model of the bike was, the name/emblem embossed thing looked so much like the word TRUMP that it actually threw me. 😆🤣 And i was still processing it as it cut to his suit in the drawer. Someone needs to let me know what it actually said. I don't believe it actually said 'trump' but that's what my brain saw.

Anyway, no reaction. Made more noticable given the slow motion, slow reveals, clearly cut to pause for people to gasp and aww. But nope nothing.

Like what were they expecting? The countdown ticks at the end, counting down 12 months. But what did this trailer hype? Let's see Steve burping his baby in 12 months. So exciting!

They say you never get a second chance to make a first impression. And this wasn't a great one. And I'm trying to be as unbiased as possible here.

Also minor annoyance:

"Steve Rogers Will Return In Avengers Doomsday"

Spelled like that. We did not need those three middle words capitalised! It annoyed me SO much 😆 Plus it would've made Steve Rogers and Doomsday stand out that much more if they hadn't. Ugh!

I'm talking about the whole, "it's impossible to survive in a land of monsters, without becoming a monster yourself"

Are we going to have some serious Kai development? Some character development that could be something very detrimental to the show?

Like it's kinda hard to say and it can probably (and easily) be disproved with how Kai is acting in DR, but still!

Even so, it'll be interesting to see how Kai tries to survive seeing that this takes place sometime after the Merge and Kai is alone, in a land of monsters and he has to be determined to try and somehow save himself.

Also the lines; "I can't lose myself" and "I would give anything for this all to be over" strongly suggest that Kai WILL have hardships and that it's not going to be easy.

The only thing that really pushes him to prevail is his will to 'see them again' alluding to the other ninja. His family.

This part of the trailer absolutely cracked me up! Kurtwood Smith’s delivery of his lines, the facial expression from Debra Jo Rupp, all of it is just so funny! Red and Kitty are back and just as awesome as they’ve always been.

Thats a fair fear to have. It would be so easy to make her a extreame sadist who hurts others for the enjoyment of it, simply because so many of the anti's for whatever (incorrect) reason fully buy into. When that isn't what the show shows us at all. At worst, Azula is detatched from others feelings/pain when it comes in the way of a wider goal or victory in the show potrayal of her. And I as much as any Azula fan would very much take issue with her becoming this shows version of Joffery.

But I will say this: right now, we have seen nothing to assume anything beyond Azula at one point shots an arrow at something.

Right now, just as possible as it is for her to be far more evil and sadisitc than she is canonically it's equally so for it just to be a skill Azula aquired. Something she has to use in a fight on top of her bending. Whatever way it swings and what they are up to with Azula's character in general will be revealed as we get more shown to us. At the lastest when we actually get the season.

Well, okay, if you want to be technical about it - sure it wasn’t particularly gag-reel worthy.  However, my issue isn’t that it’s unprofessional for them to have fun behind the scenes, I’ve never had an issue with that. 

It’s that when it came time to cobble a trailer together they completely intermixed the footage that’s part of the actual episodes with BTS content such that it blurs the line between actors on set and characters.  I just find that to be a really important delineation in terms of representing SPN as a distinct final product of a show that tells a story.  It’s too ... informal for my taste? 

It seems impossible and more than likely it was a special effect/spliced in.
