You lost two soldiers in the war aginst sanity. Two non-commissioned generals in an uncaring world. The Republic has deemed me unworthy, and the Senate has decided my wrists are a just replacement for my unheading self destructions. Who am I to argue? Rome has long since fallen , burned to cinders blown like ash aginst the shallowed wind. I fled to Egypt unsure if she was even welcoming . Queens do not welcome dishonored Generals, as the beads hide the shame of my past dangling at my wrist, I know they match yours ---at lest they might. Egypt seems nicer, more stable as if the crumble of an empire has made her a dynasty. You have lost two soldiers would you notice if you lost another--- I hung on to a broken city, to a broken notion, to a broken me. I forced myself to keep going and now I have found the will ---is gone. When Rome feel I fled to Egypt, except I relized I was never worthy of her Immaculate cities . I was unworthy of her charm, her beauty . The things I did not want to live without, crushed me so; when I was turned out. A general in an unheading battle. With no winner , no loser, and red stained wrists. I did not want you to lose another angel, though I figured I was a demon and the punishment I got fit my crimes. "When rRome falls I'll still run to Egypt. When Egypt topples... run to Rome?"

  By the ringing explosion I stumble

through the haze of a sulfurous mist

thick with burned smoke wafting into my nostrils.

There are faint screams, some laughter,

another round of sparkling colors.

I remember China had the first fireworks.

All of them were white.

Europe brought the pigments

which cause the brilliant colors seen today.

  There is another explosion, someone screams.
