Track 47 - Black Realm (2002) [as RJ Valeo]
Some music makes you dance, some music makes you feel, and some music creates a space where you can simply be and acts as a mask for the distractions around you and in your mind. This track is the latter, for me.
Done at the same time as the rest of the tracks that appear on the 2003 Type Records release 'September', Black Realm is what I would consider a B-side to that release. Based on knowing when it was done I can extrapolate how it was made -- using M, Digital Performer and Halyon. Unfortunately I do not remember much else about the making of this track, however I do remember not understanding why it was not chosen by Type for inclusion on the release. Now, with time (and it's provided accumulated wisdom) it is clear why - it didn't have the same uplifting feel as the other tracks.
Fortunately there is 71tracks, so here, finally, is the Black Realm.
