Albergue Os Arroxos Crispeta, Trabadelo, León, 2011.
I already posted this picture, but a few days ago, wondering what the name of the albergue might mean, I spent a little time trying to translate it. Assuming the name is Gallego, I hope the Google translate version of this albergue’s name is not correct. Google tells me the name means means “the bugs popping up.” As bedbugs have become a major problem on the Camino, that is scary indeed. Another translation I made based on paper dictionaries is only only slightly less weird “crisp gossip.” A puzzlement!
Anyway the name appears to be Gallego, not unlikely in the el Bierzo borderlands between Castilla y León and Galicia. Much of the territory in far western León was once considered part of Galicia.
