@troublespapi just received an email from HR. They sent it yesterday, to the work email address they inactivated. We thought all night about how they had likely done just that, but did not even realize what they were doing. Finally, just a few minutes ago, someone realized it and his email was reactivated and he now has documentation stating his termination will be Monday after a 3 day suspension this week.
His reason for being terminated is that he has abandoned his position by not returning to the office. That is inaccurate. Over the last two months, he has requested to use his plentiful sick time, he provided documentation from his physician stating he needed to work remotely at their requirement, he requested to use his vacation time, he asked to be furloughed. They denied everything. He has not yet stopped working. They asked him to compromise and have refused every suggestion he requested, only offering to terminate him.
I am really hurting for him. It's just too much today. I just want him to go back to work and stop them from this madness.
