Now I'm very curious about the numbers thing. I've never heard of it before, could you explain it?
the numbers thing is mostly a jpn fandom culture, even outside of UT/DR! japanese people LOVES (and i mean, LOVE) making up days to celebrate, and they do that by alternating(?) the way you pronounce the numbers representing days and months to make it sound like the thing they're celebrating... it's actually like,, a pun! if this make sense ;;7;;
for examples outside of UT/DR first, one of the biggest made-up day for jpn fandom is "maid day", which is celebrated on may 10, because may -> mei, and 10 -> do. mei-do (maid) day :D similarly, miku's number is 39, because 3 -> mi, and 9 -> ku. but 3 can also be read as "san", so 39 can also be "thank you" <- "sankyuu"
^ this is a general example of the numbers/days in japanese
following the chart, we get sans's day/month/number be 3, cause it's literally read as "san". and papyrus's day/month/number being 8, [sorry since im vietnamese this is my best way to explain it] though its "ha"/"ya" in sino-vietnamese number 8 is "bát" / it can be pronounced as "ba" <- "pa" in "papirusu"
you can repeat this to almost every characters, like toriel's number is 10, because "to", and then even something like,, 3/9 can become sansby day, since "san" and "ku" becomes "gu" in "gurirubii" (oh, and 9/3 is grillsans day... yknow. since top/bot is also a thing in eastern fandom space. but its actually not that serious in jpn fandom... comparing to chinese fandom?) -- this means soriel's day is 3/10 (santori) and 10/3 (torisan) and so on so forth whatever ships you can think of. even in DR for example: 9/21 is krusie day, because "kyu""nii""ichi" for kūji-i. skelebros (骨兄弟, "hone kyoudai" - bone brothers in jpn) gets 11/23 as their day, because "ii niisan" means "good big brother"
i hope it's understandable and throughoutly enough?? it's really fun to celebrate made-up days for fictional characters though the western fandom should do it more!
also yes this is why the "walk back and forth 8 times to get to ch4 egg room" freaked me out when we were talking about how papyrus might relate to the forgotten man... since thats... his number. but its only a jpn fandom thing i doubt toby considered it (IDK!)
