You and Will had been doing this friends-with-benefits thing since college. The first time you had both hooked up was one night when you were both drunk as hell after one of Ryan's big parties. Will walked you home, even though he was probably drunker than you, and helped you get into bed. You begged him to stay; your waterline filled with tears. You told him your secrets, how you struggled to feel worthy enough for anyone's love. He told you he loved you, how much he cared for you, that he wanted you. And that night was meant to prove that to you.  He fucked you while whispering in your ear how beautiful you were, how much he’d wanted to do this for years. And the next day? Not a single message from Will addressed what happened last night, not until you brought it up, at least. You asked him if it really meant anything to him, if it was just a drunken mistake. He could fuck every girl in Boston and still be hung up on you. He would still call you whenever he had any irrelevant issues, he’d text you when he needed something. He always needed something, and if you couldn’t give it to him, he’d look elsewhere.

When he’d go out, he’d meet new girls; he’d post them on his Instagram story [that actually only had you in it], he’d always do something to let you know, to lead you deeper into the hole he was digging. And when you’d get upset? He’d act as if you were crazy; he’d tell you you were being overdramatic, and you should also just speak to other guys. And that you did. The first guy who came to mind was Connor Bedard, a guy Will was pretty familiar with. You asked him if he wanted to go for dinner; he agreed. He was honestly the nicest guy you had ever met, but a deep pit in your stomach told you that what you were doing was wrong, and that you should only be speaking to Will.
