Ya boy still had the gems

You filled the cracks in me With your roots and little vines And despite the pain it causes Despite the fractures growing To chasms of anxiety I am happy I called you mine I tripped over my loving phrases Never ending never knowing That you were my toxicity You were my end of times You were thorns on roses Your ruthlessness was showing Your accusations still bleed When they cut me open You split my heart in two But I have a new one now. And where you divided me He has weeded the garden That you overgrew His hands cut on the thorns Biting into the meat of my soul And when his head bowed And his lips delved into mine His mouth fought to wrap itself Around the end of you. It was not to replace your violence, It was to discover me. Not the me you made Not the strict scheme But the free flowing spirit The herb garden in shallow walls The sunlight through stained glass The joyful, smiling face The constellations of freckles Ask me now when I became so miserable And my answer will not please My misery was rooted in you And your disappearance set me free. -Lua
