i was so excited about this cover story alone. i literally could care less about the rest of the chapter. i have soooo many thoughts so i am just going to put them out.

I have been fascinated by moria ever since thriller bark. i think he doesn't get as much credit for how much his arc introduced. the ancient giants, the florian triangle, zombies, wano, connections to big mom and kaido on that island, ryuma, the whole way shadows work, and his massive island ship.

i found out the kanji gekko (月光) and kozuki (光月) are just reversed of each other. before i found that out i thought that the grave was for a relative of moria, who happened to grow up on wano. now im entertaining the idea of it actually being gecko moria, especially since a body was not found.

so how did he end up there if he is from the west blue? i want to believe he was from god valley. he would've been about 10-12 years old. since he had to escape his home island, and kuma was new to the fruit i can see moria just randomly landing on wano after escaping.

once he is there i can see oda making some gag about them seeing the kanji for gekko and assuming it was supposed to read kozuki so everyone starts calling him kozuki moria. i don't think he is kozuki by blood, at best just adopted into the name. during his time in wano, he learned a lot of secrets because he was kozuki or used his devil fruit to sneak around. this is when he could have learned about pluton to some degree.

there is a gap between 38 years ago when i am assuming he escaped god valley, and 23 years ago when he returned to wano with a pirate crew and fought kaido at ringo. i think around the time oden left is when moria also left to start his crew. he is shown witnessing roger's execution. this could have inspired him to finally take on kaido in the next year. he fails, and loses his crew and in a last ditch effort he uses his df to escape with ryumas corpse and sword. he meets hogback and decides he needs kaido's old crew to take him down.

he returns to god valley and instead of grave robbing he stole the whole cemetery, and built thriller bark using inspiration from pluton. because i cant imagine it was just a coincidence on oda's part that iceburg claims he wants to turn water 7 into and island, and the arc right after we meet a guy who's pirate ship is just that. the easiest connection between these two could be pluton.

i feel like there could more of a connection between moria and the shipwrights. he wanted oars an ancient giant, he knew where to find oars' body, he could have known where the rest were but just wanted to start with one, and again he also had a massive ship.

after marineford it was suspicious that doflamingo was ordered by the gorosei to kill moria. i think it could be because of his df, maybe they wanted it cause it could fight against blackbeards darkness?

moria basically disapears for two years and reappears to save absolom on pirate island gets caught, but then saved by perona. i think this is when they will go join crossguild. perona helps him with hawkeye, his potential knowledge of pluton helps with crocodile, and knowing where captain johns treasure could help with buggy. at the end of the day buggy's crew does need to get more fighters. moria and perona would be great additions.
