The migas squad thing is so not true. We are really trying to stop ship war and be friends and respect what other people ship. At the con we were hanging out together, we were ok at the panel. I think the friendship we built is way more stronger than what each one ship. I'm swan queen and love my oq and cs friends, there are people from different ships that I'm friend since the beginning of the show...
I donât know if/how I should tag this for mobile search?
maybe anti-sq ? anti-ba ?
I believe you, but I also believe that there are people in each ship that donât want to stop ship wars. Like, Jennifer at the comic-con had to say that âshe knows that people keep getting mad at her for saying that Emma saved the entire town and not just Reginaâ when answering to the fourth question about how âEmma sacrificed herself for Reginaâ. That does NOT seem like a friendly and stress-free environment to me. And I read people commenting about how that was âgay panicâ and âwow sheâs so defensiveâ over the fact that people were putting words in her mouth that she hadnât said and all that. Even if many fans including you and SQers have good intentions, in a similar context I donât think they should keep addressing SQ together with canon romantic couples (or at all if people cannot accept that itâs a friendship)
we all have friends who ship other things, which doesnât stop the bad apples from being hurtful, and Lana and Sean also just yesterday mentioned receiving death threats over OQ too, itâs not just Jen, even if she gets the most hate.
Iâm not sure to which post you were referring to but I always make a point to say that itâs not ALL shippers and that there are bad shippers in every faction including mine. And some people also had bad experiences at that one panel too, I believe them like I believe that you had a good time because we are talking about hundreds of different people. I donât doubt that there are strong friendships and, for example, Iâm sure that you didnât insult anyone, that you werenât rude, that you didnât attack the actors either, like most of the people there, or you wouldnât feel this way. But there are a few loud ones who do and itâs not just my impression, you can check twitter, you can check replies under photosets of Jen talking about canon facts like her love for Killian or the fact that Emma and Regina are friends and that the darkness was going to kill her and keep destroying town so Emma tied herself to it to save everyone, or watch the video in which Jen says that âI know people keep getting mad at meâ and how uncomfortable her laugh is and youâll see that the hate is still happening. And for that reason I feel itâs inappropriate to give all this space to non canon ship when talking about romance, just like it would be inappropriate if I, a Knalive shipper, went to chant âKnalice!â in a OUATIW comicon to actors who already get hated over the fact that Cylice is canon and Knalice is not. Because even if I ship them and meant well, they arenât canon, they are like siblings and Iâd be putting the actors in a bad position.Â
again, obviously Iâd expect people to get along even if they ship different things as long as they are polite to each other, respectful, and keep in mind that we are talking about fictional things. But it makes me uncomfortable to watch the actors in that position or to read all the comments I read just yesterday about Jen for daring to state the truth after being asked four times the same question (and no wonder she looks defensive, if she says anything different from the previous 3 times sheâll be accused of leading people on, of not knowing what sheâs talking about, of having given different versions therefore sheâs lying/part of a conspiracy and all things I already read about her in the past). THATâs my complaint.
I hope I didnât sound rude or angry or anything here!
(also Iâm not sure of what the words âmigas squadâ mean so maybe I accidentally insulted specific people saying this? I thought up until now that it meant the people who ship SQ? But I have always been talking about people who make the actors uncomfortable, not any other group in general. I canât generalize because there are all kinds of shippers who do the same)Â
