It’s 100% because everyone knows there’s inherently some romantic coding behind who fights Blake’s abusive ex with her, but they won’t admit that’s the reason they don’t want Yang to fight him so they come up with all kinds of other reasons it can’t be Yang.

Like, “revenge is bad” yet y’all don’t have anything to say about Yang fighting anyone else for revenge related reasons. Like, I don’t even think Yang’s going to actively seek Adam out with the intent of getting revenge on him. The reason Yang fights Adam isn’t really the important part. It’s more of a narrative thing where Adam is responsible for Yang’s greatest defeat up to this point so her character arc is never going to feel complete if she doesn’t face him again and prove she’s stronger than him (in more ways than one), especially because she’s strength.

Or “Adam is a faunus problem so it’s a faunus-only fight.” idk what to tell you, but Adam permanently maiming Yang isn’t a minor detail that they can just brush off. That was a huge thing for Yang and it makes zero sense for her to never interact with him again after he was such a big part of her character arc.

And I’m very against Yang vs Adam being a 1v1 thing, Blake needs to be there as well, so in my opinion that removes the “humans subjugating faunus” thing the people who argue that insist would be present if Yang’s one of the people involved in defeating Adam.
