I was reading the translations of the Esquire article and one thing always seems to stand out to me about all these interviews regardless of magazine or topic: there is no flow.

Why is it that Korean/Japanese interviews are so weird? Like the questions and comments from the interviewer never seem to match the answers? Hypothetical example:

Q: What color would you paint your bedroom?

A: Well, color is a very important concept when you're coming up with a character to fit your band. In our group we all have our individual colors that match each other well and create a unique concept.

Me: I don't get it. The fuq are we talking about...

Q: So tell me more about the concept for this release.

A: Yes, exactly. That's why we went in that direction because he chose that designer already so I said, how about we go back to the other one. That's what makes him a great leader.

Me: WTF just happened? Let me read this shit again. *reads* Nope. Still doesn't make sense.

It's like the interview is pieced together from leftovers or the article completely loses it's rhythm and flow in the translation. Sometimes I think the interviewer just goes and has conversations with celebrities and then makes up questions as he writes the article...idk. It's always so choppy and weird to me. Here, let me quote the Esquire article about Seungri:

Q: Is this why you have so many noona fans? Because of your blunt personality?

A: That’s great. Older women are very attractive. To be honest, I’ve had feelings for a noona that was born in 1975.

The question wasn't "How do you feel about having noona fans." So I don't understand why he starts the answer with "That's great." The whole answer while still on topic, has NOTHING to do with the question.

Omg, this kind of thing frustrates me so bad. Every single interview I've read coming from Japan or Korea is the same way! I don't understand! I don't understand this choppiness at all, this lack of flow and rhythm.
