For a short time, the pair of them had broke up. It was a rather difficult time and something Gable desperately tried to stop from happening but neither of them were in a really great place. Neither of them dated anyone else during that period time as they were quietly pining after one another - Gable often called and hung up before Pete could answer. On the odd occasion when he got drunk he left upset voicemails asking why he was being ignored and confessing his love. He never remembered them.. only that he’d been crying and whose number he’d last called.

When they’re in bed together, they like to check in with one another both verbally and physically - doesn’t matter the time of day. Link will intentionally shift so that they’re face to face and will work a hand up from Adam’s knee until he gets to cup his face in his hand. Only then will he say something short like “Hi” or “Morning”, he knows immediately if it’s going to be a good or bad day by the response or lack thereof. He will always press the softest of pecks to Adam’s forehead regardless because that’s his routine, he has to do it to feel good in himself.

When the weather is bad and they’re back at home for a few days, they’ll often just sit near the window together and watch the rain come down. August likes it best when Kyle’s head is resting in his lap and he can endlessly talk about his favourite things - some of the time it’s a one sided conversation but neither of them really mind. On the odd occasion when they’re feeling restless, they’ll go out in the midst of a heavy downpour, doesn’t matter what they do they just enjoy the freedom of being able to spend time together.
