I made another list 🙂↕️ here is part 1 of 2
Sooo i have made list on my favourite spanish songs (Mexico, Latin America and Spain) and now i do not want to to it with song in english because would be a little harder, yet, I did a top 20 of my fave USA and Canada albums .
So please enjoy !!!
Top 20 favourite albums from artist form USA and Canada
also a video of my fave song of each album.
20. Imaginal Disk by Magdalena Bay - I have a couple of “newer” albums here in the list but this one in particular is from an artist that had come to me as a shooting star, i mean i had hear mercurial world, but this record was mind blowing to me, Mica and Mathew are a great duo, I also love how it feels like the ending of spring and beginning of summer, as that seasonal change, it is bright and romantic and colourful, it is an experience.
19. For Emma, forever ago by Bon Iver - There is a quiet sadness and melancholy in Bon Iver, as in the general sound throughout Vernon's career but in this album is so tactile, i can physically feel the numbness and heart wrenching pang that you can hear in each song, it is haunting and gorgeous.
18. 333 by Tinashe - I have a sweet spot for Nashe, she has such a huge career that i think is not as validated as it should to be honest, I adored Aquarius and Joyride, but 333 is such a vibe that i go back to everytime i feel a little sad.
17. Come to my Garden by Minnie Riperton - Such an interesting sound, isn't it? She was a versatile singer to say the least. I don't have much to say about Minnie or this album, because it is a product of its time, i mean it does sound 70’s but it is also so fresh, i don't know how to explain it, is just magical, and naturally enchanting.
16. Rumours by Fleetwood Mac - It is a British American band, I would take it as American, because it is my list and I can, this is one of the albums my dad used to put in when I was little, so I grew up on it, and Black Sabbath. This record is so chaotic in a great way, like they truly knew what they were doing and that is why it is such a classic, and to me is a must listen and I do know all the lyrics and lore, of course.
15. When the pawn… by Fiona Apple - I was in my cousin computer when I was around 10 and he was downloading some songs on limewire, from various artist that went in between Lilly Allen to MIA, and in those between he had “fast as you can” and that and “little earthquakes” from Tori Amos were the two songs that stood out to me the most, I have been a huge fan of Fiona since then, and this album i think is pretty special, she is such a talented woman.
14. Woman In Music PT III by Haim - The Haim sisters are such a dear to my heart, I been following them since their beginning, and i do like all of their music, yet this album is in my top because it felt and still feels so personal, is intimate and raw but in a way that feels mine, as if it is my own raw emotional turmoil, i love it.
13. Is this it by The Strokes - My cousin, again, made me and my other cousins to go with him to had a tattoo session without my aunt's knowledge, and then went to mix up (a disc store) in downtown where i lived and he made us listen to it, and I was livid, I was like 7 (he was around 18) and by 13 I had the biggest crush on Julian, I still do… because I do have a type after all, i love this album, i have fond memories from it.
12. Baby by Dijon - “Absolutely” is great but Baby is amazing, i think is one of those albums that go into your soul and make you feel something that i cant explain. It is experimental yet it is still soft and understandable as is not too strange with its experiment.
11. Sweetener by Ariana Grande - I really like Ariana, her voice is like heaven i adore it, and this album in particular to me is her best, she sounds great, the songs are as the title mostly sweet and the production might be my favourite off all her records, like i love how she mixed producers in this one, it was a good call.
